We're looking for a Barbering Lecturer to join the prison education team at HMP Isle of Wight. This is a unique opportunity to use your industry experience to help learners gain valuable qualifications, confidence, and employability skills that can support positive opportunities in the future.
Whether you're an experienced tutor or a skilled Barber looking to move into education for the first time, we'd love to hear from you. Full training and development can be provided for candidates with the right vocational background.
As a Barbering Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and practical Barbering sessions to small groups of learners within a prison environment.
You'll support learners throughout their educational journey, helping them develop both technical barbering skills and the confidence needed to progress into employment, training, or further education.
For candidates seeking a full-time role, additional Outreach responsibilities are available. This involves working with learners across the prison, encouraging participation in education and supporting engagement with learning opportunities.
Applicants without formal teaching qualifications are encouraged to apply, as training and support can be provided to help you transition into a teaching career.
